Duties and Responsibilities of an Audit Manager

  • Controlling various audits, managing the output of team members to ensure standards are met regarding clients and KAM requirements
  • Maintain a knowledge of associated internal and external market factors to ensure audits are produced efficiently and effectively
  • Provide effective support and decision making for the Audit team and other management
  • Ensure the Audit department operates efficiently while reporting to Senior staff
  • Control the relevant costing, scheduling, coordination and control of audit engagements to ensure recoverability
  • Mentor team members to help them provide an effective service and ensure projects follow a suitable time scale
  • Develop and maintain existing relationships with clients and counterparts; share information to identify and continue current and   forthcoming audit requirements
  • Be a part of the creation, actioning and delivery of the department business plan

Requirements of the Audit Manager

  • 2 years’ experience in an External Audit Managerial role
  • ACA / ACCA or equivalent qualification
  • Skilled in the use of Microsoft Office, eAudit, KPMG audit methods and current reporting standards including IFRS and UK GAAP
  • Experience in Financial Services
  • Ethics and independence and client take-on procedures
  • Strong personal and team working skills
  • Ability to coach, mentor and manage teams of various sizes
  • Fluent in both written and spoken English
