Meraki Talent’s client is actively seeking at least three Cloud Migration Architects to work on a number of interim contract roles. These candidates can be based at a number of locations including Glasgow, Birmingham or London. Although initially three months in length, extensions will be released in three month ‘chunks’ thereafter. Reporting into the Lead of Cloud Transformation, the Cloud Migration Architect will deliver a critical role in transforming and migrating our client’s legacy platforms and workloads onto hybrid, multi-cloud infrastructure and platform services. Target platforms include Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services, private cloud (VMware & Oracle VM) and colocation.


Responsibilities of the Cloud Migration Architects:


- Assess information and data, discover tool outputs for legacy hosted systems and applications, designs and deliver the migration approach working with and supervising cloud engineers within the team to ensure that each migration is delivered in a safe, effective and efficient manner

- Remain current with cloud developments and continuous learning and improvement, supporting learning and mentoring of junior colleagues within the team and the wider organisation

- “Think outside the box”, bring new approaches and innovative solutions to bear and be expected to develop mutually supportive relationships with other team members within the business

- Assess, design and deliver system and application migrations for medium to large organisations. A demonstrable understanding of common application and middleware architectures will be distinctly advantageous


Background of the Cloud Migration Architects:


- Experience of migration and transformation of systems and applications from on-premise ICT infrastructure

- Ability to clearly articulate and represent your approach and capabilities through presentations, workshops and solution architecture documents

- A broad understanding and familiarity with general purpose Application, Data, Infrastructure, Integration, Security and Web Architectures

- Excellent understanding of application architectures and Public Cloud Technologies

- Automation experience and use of Puppet, Chef and Ansible preferable but not essential
