This Commercial Accountant job in Edinburgh is a fantastic opportunity for a part-qualified or finalist accountant looking to develop their career with a world-class business in a value-add role.  The company is one of Scotland’s most successful companies and has built a reputation for innovation on a global scale.  The Commercial Accountant will therefore play a key part in providing Senior Management and the Leadership Team with quality Management and Financial Information to make the right strategic decisions.

 

As Commercial Accountant, one of your key responsibilities will be to update and maintain the Forecasting model for different scenarios as required for monthly reporting and budgeting; quarterly forecasting, cashflow submissions as well as other ad hoc requirements, for example Working Capital reports.  You will of course reconcile the outputs for accuracy and ensure that the forecast model is aligned to the long range strategic model.

 

As Commercial Accountant, you will also pull together the monthly Actual V Budget V Forecast report, understanding variances and adding meaningful commentary.  Indeed, you’ll play a key part in the annual budgeting process, working with a range of key stakeholders to ensure the integrity of the numbers and therefore, the annual plan.

 

Frequently, you’ll be asked by the CFO and other members of the Senior Management team to prepare a number of bespoke reports and carry out a variety of projects.

 

This Commercial Accountant job is aimed at someone with a few years’ experience of working in a corporate environment, most likely at the part-qualified/finalist level, looking for an opportunity to grow and develop with the company.  Applications are also welcomed from candidates currently working in professional practice looking for a move into a more commercial environment.  To be successful, you should have good Excel skills and be able to liaise with, and influence senior stakeholders as you will have regular access to decision makers and Finance Director level or equivalent.  It’s a brilliant opportunity to join a fantastic business and develop a long-lasting and value-add career.
