This Corporate Tax Accountant job in Edinburgh with a global financial services business is a great opportunity for a newly/recently qualified accountant or tax consultant to join a market leading tax team. The business is a household name, renowned for quality and innovation - as well as having a deserved reputation as a great place to work. As Corporate Tax Accountant, you will be responsible for the Corporate Tax compliance and accounting activities in the UK and the wider EMEA region.
Specifically, the Corporate Tax Accountant will be responsible for the accurate and timely provision of data to external advisors, who in turn will prepare the corporate tax returns. In this capacity, you'll work closely with said advisors to prepare and subsequently review the returns for submission, whilst ensuring prompt payment of all EMEA tax liabilities as and when they arise. Another key component of the role will be to assist the corporate tax manager in the preparation of UK computations, as well as preparing USGAAP tax provisions and reconciling USGAAP balance sheet accounts for all EMEA entities on a monthly basis.
But there's more to this role than just compliance. A significant proportion of your time will be spent supporting the Tax Product teams on a variety of initiatives, as well as undertaking numerous bespoke projects at the behest of the Head of Tax.
To be successful, it is envisaged that you will be a newly/recently qualified accountant or tax professional (CA/ACA/ACCA/CTA) and ideally have at least some experience of preparing and/or reviewing corporate tax returns. A sound knowledge of general ledger applications such as Oracle and Hyperion Financial would be particularly attractive, as would the ability to communicate clearly and confidently with a variety of stakeholders. It's anticipated that the successful Corporate Tax Accountant will be a proven self-starter and therefore be capable of working independently and to tight deadlines as required.
The tax team are part of a much larger domestic and international finance team and there are numerous opportunities for growth and development in this role for the right individual. If you're at the newly qualified level and looking to make a move from professional practice in-house, you'd do well to consider this opportunity.
