Meraki Talent are recruiting on behalf of a global banking group expanding their Private Banking Risk Sanctioning team in Glasgow


The role will work in a growing team across several UK locations, taking the lead on more complex credit requests across various HNW / private banking products such as residential mortgages (owner occupier and investment), investment leverage and personal / corporate loans and overdrafts.


Responsibilities of the Credit Risk Specialist – Private Lending:

  • Exercise judgement and discretion in the evaluation and approval/recommendation of credit proposals
  • Maintain high levels of data integrity and ensure adherence to governance, compliance and lending portfolio controls.
  • Maintain a close working relationship with Bankers/Relationship Managers
  • Provide pre/post application coaching and challenge pricing in order to maximise value.


Background of the Credit Risk Specialist – Private Lending:

  • Strong credit skills, preferably gained in a credit underwriting or sanctioning role
  • Private Bank or Mortgage experience is desirable
  • Real Estate or Corporate lending experience would also be beneficial
