Database Developer (MS SQL / Postgres)

Excellent Salary

Posted Mon 14 Oct 2019

Start date Nov – Jan 19

Our client, a leading financial services business, is actively looking for a Database Developer (MS SQL / Postgres) to join their team. A hugely progressive business, heavily invested in technology, the Database Developer (MS SQL / Postgres) will spend their team split between both BAU and Project based work. This role would suit either a Database Developer at the beginning of their career with one or two years experience or someone more experienced. For this role we’re looking for a ‘true’ database developer, someone who gets into the ‘nitty gritty’ of database development, not just someone who can utilise or analyse databases.

Responsibilities of the Database Developer (MS SQL / Postgres)

- Help in building, monitoring, supporting and administering systems that help drive the global economy

- Support key business projects as well as BAU work

- Engage with senior stakeholders across the global organisation

Background of the Database Developer (MS SQL / Postgres):

- Extensive experience working as a Database Developer utilising either MS SQL or Postgres as your primary technology/platform essential

- Any experience in working with cloud platforms preferable but not essential

- Any experience working with Linux, RedHat, Apache Cassandra, Solr, Zookeeper, Python, Perl, GIT or Java would be a nice to have

- Any automation experience a nice to have

- Able to work an occasional weekend day (A Saturday or Sunday every 4 or 5 weeks, time returned in lieu)
