Meraki Talent’s professional services client based in Dundee are currently looking for a DevOps Engineer to join them on a contract basis for 12 months. This role offer the opportunity for flexible / remote working.


As a DevOps Engineer you will support the evolution of the API layer, which underpins our client’s customer facing software technology stack, as well as our client facing web applications. 


You will work in a highly collaborative environment using a mixture of Agile and Waterfall methods.  You will leverage and promote our software frameworks, components and design patterns to deliver robust and scalable solutions.


Responsibilities of the DevOps Engineer;

  • Design, build, and maintain a continuous deployment pipeline that is modern, scalable, robust, and reliably fast
  • Minimize downtime while guiding the team in moving from the current deployment process & pipeline to the new process & pipeline
  • Supporting proactive measurement and monitoring of application capacities and performance
  • Re-architecting and migrating applications and servers to a cloud environment
  • Ensure quality of solutions by assisting in peer reviews and writing automated unit tests
  • Delivering System and SQL Reports on time and to specification
  • Clearly articulate your progress against the current project plan
  • Provide the appropriate level of documentation for solutions and contribute to the development, support, and operations knowledge base
  • Perform third-line application support
  • Be highly productive whilst balancing the need for quality and agility


Background of the DevOps Engineer;

  • Experience working as a server and / or network administrator in a software development environment
  • Experience supporting Windows web, application, and database servers (Linux servers are a bonus)
  • Experience moving applications to the cloud (especially Azure), and supporting them once there
  • Experience collaborating across technology functions, such as Infrastructure, Service Management, Software Development, and Applications
  • Managing the day-to-day operations of our build, testing, and continuous integration environment
  • Automating the dev process, including continuous integration, automated testing, and automated deployment (Jenkins, Docker, Puppet, etc)
  • Working with source / revision control systems, such as TFS and Jira
