3 Month Temporary Contract - Home Based 

Meraki Talent is currently recruiting for a Document Production Operator to join our client, a well-established Global Law firm. The role is home based, however travel to either the clients Edinburgh or Glasgow offices, will be required on occasion.  

You will be providing home based proactive and professional support across the firms practice groups, including (but not limited to) audio/digital dictation typing, copy typing, amending/formatting large and complex documents, producing comparison documentation, Word/PDF conversion and manipulation plus the preparation of diagrams, slides, spreadsheets other ad hoc requests as required.

Responsibilities of the Document Production Technician:

  • Excellent English language and grammar skills gained in legal environment 
  • Advanced document production skills to include accurate typing, spelling, grammar and proof reading
  • Advanced Word skills; such as styles, auto numbering, house styles, cross referencing, tracked changes, table of contents, etc. plus the creative aspects of the software
  • Advanced knowledge of PowerPoint: embedding files, animations, transitions, etc
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel: formulas, pivot tables, charts, conditional formatting, etc
  • Advanced knowledge of PDF conversion and comparison software.
  • Good knowledge of Outlook
  • Experience of document management system known as FileSite/Worksite/DMS
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a friendly manner at all times
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines while handling high volumes of work and fluctuating workloads


Background of the Document Production Technician: 

  • Ability to work unsupervised or with minimum supervision in a homebased role
  • Provide a suitable broadband connection and homeworking environment
  • Travel to your local office when required by the business, for training, meetings etc
  • Flexibility around start and finish times; due to the nature of this role and the business needs it is essential that technicians are willing to work extra hours as and when required, particularly when large deals are closing
  • Business and organisation awareness with an internal "can do and "help out" client orientated approach
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with a meticulous eye for detail
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a friendly manner at all times
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines while handling high volumes of work and fluctuating workloads
  • Ability to work as an active team member demonstrating a flexible and adaptable approach to work
  • Ability to develop self and share information, skills and tips with the team
