This newly created Group Accountant job in Edinburgh with a world class financial services business is an excellent opportunity for a fully qualified accountant with post-qualified experience in a group finance department to make a valuable contribution in both statutory accounting as well as group consolidation and regulatory reporting. The company is going through an exciting period of change, reflected in the need to add additional headcount to group finance.
As Group Accountant, you will play a key part in the delivery of group and holding company reporting – being responsible for the monthly accounting and statutory reporting for the holding company. In addition, you will responsible for the collation of the information required for reporting and disclosures which will of course include regular liaison with other parts of the business. Indeed, it’s crucial that you’re able to work collaboratively with colleagues not just in group finance, but across the wider finance team. As Group Accountant, you will develop and maintain a good understanding of the linkage between FINREP and COREP submissions whilst also playing an active part in strategic projects as requested by Senior Management.
To be successful in this role, it is anticipated that you will be a fully qualified accountant with post-qualifying experience in a Group finance team, ideally with another financial services or large corporate environment. You will be able to demonstrate a high level of personal accountability and flexibility to meet competing deadlines and indeed have proven experience of delivering results in a challenging and ever-changing environment.
