This interim Head of Assets under Management (AUM) Reporting & Analytics job in Central Edinburgh is a great opportunity for a highly skilled finance professional with AUM knowledge and experience to support a global asset management business in the short term.  Covering for long-term sick for the incumbent, the interim Head of AUM Reporting & Analytics will support the business in the following manner:

 

  • The key responsibility of the Head of AUMA Reporting & Analytics is to be the primary owner for all AUM & Revenue insight and analysis including ownership of a ‘fit for purpose’ Revenue model
  • With a strong strategic and commercial focus and mind-set, drive forward the rest of Finance and create a significant step change in the timing and delivery of value added commercial insight and analysis, bringing their own and other finance teams on the journey through greater collaboration, accountability, professionalism and respect for one another
  • The role is to provide 'real time' analysis and insight, always with a forward look in mind.  Critical to their success is an ability to build a high performing, high calibre team, communicate the OneFinance vision clearly, understand their audience and deliver timely information in a clear and concise manner
  • It is this mix of analytical, commercial and communication skills which are at the heart of a successful AUM reporting & analytics team who support and influence ExCo decision making to enable the right customer outcomes
  • The role holder will work closely at a senior level with both Finance colleagues and key business stakeholders especially in the main business areas of Distribution and Investments to ensure provision of all commercial AUMA, Flows & Revenue performance insight and analysis as appropriate. 
  • They will bring consistency of reporting and analysis across Finance and the business, whilst providing high quality outputs in terms of content, structure and format

Key accountabilities include:

  • Proactively leading the AUM Project and Finance Transformation agenda to ensure a ‘future fit’ platform with appropriate governance, controls and functionality are delivered whilst bringing other Finance teams on the journey
  • Rebuilding the Revenue model, ensuring it is fit for purpose with clearly defined and agreed allocation methodologies across finance and the business
  • Significant and noticeable improvement in the quality, impact and timing of AUMA, Flows & Revenue insight and analysis that links financials to business strategies
  • Creating a high calibre team with no key man risks, capable of operating in a matrix structure across the wider Business Performance & Planning team with ‘Ways of Working’ at the core
  • Ensuring team and own delivery of not just the ‘WHATs’ but also ‘HOWs’, contributing to a material shift in the Finance culture
  • Building partnerships and maintaining strong relationships with senior leaders and their teams globally
  • Monthly presentation of AUMA, Flows & Revenue performance, full year outlook and run rate analysis including understanding of all opportunities and risks
  • Proactively challenging current ways of working, streamlining processes and driving efficiencies wherever possible
  • Ownership of half year and year end investor presentation material relevant to AUMA, Flows & Revenue performance

To be successful, it is envisaged that you will be a fully qualified accountant with significant post-qualifying experience in a financial services environment - ideally with a good understanding and knowledge of the Asset Management sector.  You will have the gravitas to assume responsibility, take charge of events and drive energy and passion into the team.  A great opportunity to make a lasting difference to a business going through a significant period of change.
