Meraki Talent’s global financial services client based in London city are currently looking to recruit a Lead Solutions Architects to joint their growing Architecture practice.

 

This role will assist the Group Chief Architect, and the rest of the architecture function, to produce a future, strategic, IT architecture blueprint, and associated IT transformation roadmap, for the business functions globally, working with the Business Unit CIO in managing portfolio demand and feeding into the overall target landscape.

 

Whilst this role will report direct to the Business Unit CIO, each role is also a member of the Global Architecture Practice, and thus is also accountable to the Group Chief Architect. The Lead Solution Architect defer to the Enterprise Architect specialists in part for Integration and in full for Service, Security & Technical domains, as well as with the Group Chief Architect and team regards defining the longer-term IT architecture for each speciality business function globally.

 

Responsibilities of the Lead Solution Architect;

  • Identify the architectural capability alignment to each Business Unit CIO that focuses on the specific functionality required to deliver business requirements. Importantly also agrees the non-functional requirements (performance, availability and scalability etc.)
  • Each Lead Solutions Architect will be responsible for leading and managing the additional IT resources that are aligned to each individual Business Unit CIO, and which perform solutions analysis, architecture & design roles
  • Each Lead Solutions Architect will also work with their CIO to understand the Business Unit strategy and then, in conjunction with the Group Chief Architect and core Enterprise Architecture team, to define both the Business Unit IT strategy & associated Business Unit “To-Be” target architecture vision and associated IT change roadmap(s)
  • Run the Architecture Compliance Board and escalate and present any solutions meeting appropriate criteria to the Group Architecture Compliance Board as required.

 

Background of the Lead Solution Architect;

  • Several years of experience in architecture roles which have covered significant IT implementations
  • A broad understanding of business, application, technology and data architecture, with depth in one or two of those areas
  • Awareness of formal modelling practices such as UML or BPMN/BPEL would be useful but not mandatory
  • A demonstrable understanding of the TOGAF architecture framework.
  • Experience of integration concepts, SOA & Web Services and SharePoint would be beneficial
  • Experience of presenting to staff at all levels
  • Report writing
  • Someone who has solutioned and assured architectures – not design work
  • Ability to push back with senior stakeholders and doesn’t back down
  • Co-ordinating solutions, architecture assurance, total cost of ownership reduction, architecture landscape
  • Confidence and gravitas to pitch and present
