This Management Accountant job in Glasgow with a global business is an ideal opportunity for a part-qualified or recently qualified accountant looking to work in a value-add management accounts role. The company is a true leader in its field and the Glasgow office is becoming a “centre of excellence” for key support areas including finance. The role would see you work with a wide and varied stakeholder base both domestically and overseas and is an excellent opportunity to build on your influencing skills.
As Management Accountant, your primary responsibility will be to prepare and review the UK Management Accounts and supporting reports – including variance analysis and commentary. Balance sheet reconciliation plus UK salary reconciliation and analysis will also form a component part of the role as will the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts.
In addition to the management accounts prep, you’ll also support the preparation of year-end statutory accounts for the UK entities and liaise with external auditors as and when required. Finally, you’ll work with the wider financial analysis team to work on a number of projects and bespoke analysis as required by the senior management team.
To be successful, it is envisaged that you will be a fully qualified accountant, most likely with a professional services background (Big 4, Top 20, leading independent CA firm) looking to make a first or second move. Alternatively, you may be working in industry and looking for a “step up” and a new challenge in a dynamic environment. Good Excel skills are paramount, and if if you have experience of systems such as TM1 or Elite 3e that would be an advantage.
