Our client, a leading global financial services business, is actively looking for 5 MS SQL Server DBAs as part of a business critical build. This role would suit an experienced DBA with extensive knowledge of MS SQL Server, looking for a November or early December start.


Responsibilities of the MS SQL Server DBA (SME) x 5:


- Planning and executing on strategic database activities including on more complex issues:

- Installation, configuration and upgrading of SQL Server software and products

- Creating and sizing database storage structures and database objects

- Plan for capacity planning and make recommendations accordingly

- Managing 24*7 production server, huge databases and multiple instances

- Logical/physical data modelling/architecture design


Background of the MS SQL Server DBAs (SME):


- Extensive experience working with SQL Server (Ideally 2005 – 2019) as a DBA. The successful contractor needs to consider themselves as a SQL Server SME, and be comfortable in being tested at interview

- T-SQL Performance Tuning would be highly beneficial

- Any experience working on data migrations highly preferable

- Solid knowledge of relational database concepts, related tools and utilities

- Able to work on weekend on call and occasional shifts as required. This will occasionally be needed
