Responsibilities

  • Contribute to identifying, cultivating, managing and completing of partnerships and M&A transactions.
  • You will report to the VP Corporate Development.
  • Key internal relationships with the CEO, Management Board Members, Business Unit Managers and Finance executives.
  • Gathering and analyzing market intelligence (including analyzing macro trends, market dynamics, competitor landscape, and capturing the government/regulatory context)
  • Supplying leadership with insightful competitive analysis and strategic advice; prepare presentations for reviewing opportunities with Senior Management and Board Members
  • Identifying and cultivating proprietary growth opportunities
  • Participate in companywide strategic initiatives (e.g. innovation)
  • Supporting and/or independently drive M&A activities (small to medium targets)
  • Strategic and financial analysis of targets & competitors; detailed industry and company analysis, ownership of market intelligence for targets and competitors
  • Managing and improving the M&A funnel
  • Due diligence and pre/post-merger integration projects
  • Financial modeling for M&A transactions or establishing business plans
  • Support the M&A target identification process
  • Independently run complex analysis incl. data collection and financial modeling
  • Communicate with internal/external stakeholders, prepare and run workshop sessions and prepare presentations for Senior Management

Requirements

  • MSc or PHD in Sciences (preferably life sciences disciplines like biology)
  • 3 years+ In the healthcare industry, preferably life sciences In strategy development, M&A or due diligence with a tier-1 management consultancy with life science exposure OR In a corporate development department of a life science company OR In investment banking with life science exposure
  • Intense creativity and ability to juggle multiple prioritize and focus on the critical few
  • Excellent analytical, fact-based strategic planning, and problem-solving skills
  • Track record of success
