Our client, a leading global financial services business, is actively looking for 7 Systems Engineers as part of a build supporting a large scale project. The Systems Engineers are responsible for the engineering and support aspects of application middleware components, overseeing the technical design, development and maintenance of application infrastructure components as well as maintaining engineering design standards and a stable application infrastructure environment. They provide co-ordination to ensure implementation and monitoring of applications as well as analysing and projecting long-range capacity requirements and deal with system related incidents, upgrades, patching and configuring.


Responsibilities of the Systems Engineers:


- Provide on-call rotational production technical support and implements change controls and contribute to production issue resolution

- Ensure application availability, reliability, stability and documents root cause analysis of all in-scope incidents along with recommended corrective action plans

- Participate in OS upgrades, application migrations and projects requiring infrastructure implementation and/or changes

- Assist with application releases and processes

- Act as an infrastructure partner on projects, helping to define the infrastructure needs, outlining benefits and addressing issues as they arise

- Create and maintain technical documents such as knowledge base articles, infrastructure diagrams, and FAQs        


Background of the Systems Engineers:


- Solid experience within a RedHat Linux and/or Windows, IIS and .NET based middleware environment

- Experience working within a large scale/enterprise type environment essential

- Experience supporting a multi-tiered web environment

- Experience in cloud computing and containerization

- Knowledge of MS .Net would be strongly preferred

- Experience in Ruby on Rails, Apache, nginx webserver, Javascript and / or Window Server administration (2008/2012/2016) would be nice

- Able to work occasional weekends or extended days due to migration work and global team structure
