Meraki Talent are currently looking to recruit a technical accounting Senior Manager to join a big 4 firm in the Isle of Man. This is an opportunity for an individual with strong audit experience develop their career by working in a growing department and working across a range of issues and tasks.

The Isle of Man is renowned for providing high quality financial services across banking, captive insurance, fiduciaries, fund management & administration and Life & Pensions. Financial services accounts for 37% of GDP in the Isle of Man. Outside of financial services, there are many other industry sectors in the Isle of Man including a large e-gaming and e-commerce sector. The economy is so successful in the Isle of Man that 90% of supported new business start-ups are successful on the island!

Duties and responsibilities of the Technical Accounting Senior Manager

  • Provide technical accounting advice internally and externally
  • Providing support on interpretation of UK GAAP, IFRS and US GAAP across all topics areas
  • Provide pre-issuance technical reviews for financial reviews for financial statements
  • Implementation of policies supporting audit quality
  • Offer advice on international financial reporting developments
  • Be involved in or responsible for the preparation of illustrative financial statements and other guidance materials
  • Responsible for the development of company policy on accounting and legal issues
  • Prepare publications on financial reporting issues for clients and staff
  • Provide financial reporting related updates to clients and staff
  • Preparation and maintenance of engagement tools such as disclosure checklists and templates
  • GAAP conversion services

 Background of the Technical Accounting Senior Manager

  • ACCA, CA, ICAEW, CPA qualified or equivalent
  • Big 4 experience is preferred
  • Strong communication skills- both written and spoken
  • Excellent technical and analytical skills
  • Be focused and take pride in provide excellent client service an
  • Possess the ability to multi-task and prioritise workloads, especially when deadlines are in place
  • Leading projects and teams where appropriate
