UK Financial Reporting & Control Accountant

 Location: Edinburgh
Salary: Circa £40,000 + Excellent benefits + attractive bonus
 Job type: Permanent
 Closes: closed

This UK Financial Reporting & Control Accountant job in Central Edinburgh with a global asset management business is an excellent opportunity for a newly/recently qualified accountant looking to make a first "in-house" move upon qualification.  The role is a good blend of accounting and reporting, and would see the successful candidate work with a variety of stakeholders not just in finance, but across the business.  Specifically, the UK Financial Reporting & Control Accountant will have responsibility for legal entity financial control and reporting across the UK for certain subsidiaries, thus requiring strong end to end accounting control and financial process skills and experience.  The role is part of the finance team for a global asset management business; a truly world-class company, that offers tremendous career opportunities across the group.

As UK Financial Reporting & Control Accountant, as well as producing the monthly results, you'll prepare appropriate commentary and insightful analysis to ensure that the results are fully understood and will stand up to rigorous review and challenge from senior management.  You'll also work closely with other accountants across finance to ensure that the process for internal recharges under Transfer Pricing are working in a compliant and efficient way.  Thus, you'll also work closely with the technical accounting team to ensure compliance with any accounting changes which will affect the UK legal entities.  Indeed, developing relationships not just within finance, but across the wider business will be key to your success.

To be successful, it is envisaged that you will be a newly/recently qualified accountant looking to make a move from external audit into your first reporting role.  Knowledge of fund management/financial services is a "nice to have" as opposed to necessary - applications are welcomed from those candidates who have worked with large complex clients and have a good working knowledge of IFRS.  But it's not just your technical expertise that will see you be successful.  Your ability to bring innovation to problem solving, strong attention to detail and the ability to communicate with clarity to stakeholders at all levels will be as equally as important.

This role is a fantastic opportunity to make your mark in a dynamic and fast-paced business, offering excellent scope for career development and enhancement.
