Throughout her career, Laura has combined an instinctive understanding of recruitment with a strong commercial and operational focus. She has extensive experience within international Professional Services recruitment, working across global markets and developing long-standing relationships with clients and senior professionals.

Today, she continues to play an active role in Meraki's Global Professional Services offering, supporting a team that recruits across areas including Audit, Tax, Risk, Advisory, Corporate Finance and other specialist disciplines. Her experience of international recruitment and global mobility gives her a particularly strong understanding of the complexities involved in identifying, attracting and relocating specialist talent across borders.

As Managing Director, however, Laura's remit extends considerably beyond a single recruitment specialism. She plays a central role in the day-to-day leadership and continued development of the business. Her responsibilities span operational performance, service delivery, compliance, people development and commercial growth, helping ensure that Meraki continues to evolve while maintaining the standards and culture on which the business has been built.

People are a particularly important part of Laura's role. She is closely involved in identifying and attracting the next generation of talent into Meraki, from ambitious individuals beginning their recruitment careers to experienced consultants and established recruiters looking for a platform from which to achieve more.  Laura is the driving force behind Meraki's careers and Employee Value Proposition and is the point of contact for professionals ambitious to grow their career with the organisation.

Laura is actively involved in mentoring and developing Associates, Consultants and future leaders, supporting individuals as they build specialist market knowledge, develop commercial confidence and progress their careers. She works closely with Meraki's leadership team to create high-performing teams while protecting the collaborative, entrepreneurial culture that has been central to the business since its inception.

Passionate about helping young people, Laura has been involved in mentoring Career Ready school pupils for almost 15 years and giving young people their first taste of the working world.

My specialist area of expertise is focused within Risk and Advisory though have several years within the profession in multiple disciplines having built up a number of strong relationships and partnerships with global professional service firms.

Joanna is a former Corporate Crime and Regulatory Solicitor who has specialised in legal recruitment since 2018, placing legal talent across the globe in both private practice and in-house roles.

With experience spanning all areas of legal recruitment, Joanna works with law firms, businesses and legal professionals across a diverse range of practice areas and jurisdictions. Her international approach, combined with her first-hand experience of working within the legal profession, gives her a unique understanding of the technical, commercial and cultural factors that make a successful appointment.

Before moving into recruitment, Joanna enjoyed a successful legal career as a practising Solicitor, spending more than eight years working primarily across London and the South East. She specialised in Corporate Defence and Regulatory law with a Top 50 UK law firm, advising clients on complex and high-profile matters, including cases that attracted national media attention. Her expertise was recognised by The Legal 500, where she was named a Next Generation Lawyer in both 2016 and 2018.

Since transitioning into recruitment, Joanna has built an extensive international network and established long-standing relationships with leading law firms, organisations and legal professionals. She recruits across all practice areas and levels of seniority, from emerging talent through to senior and leadership appointments.

Her legal background allows her to speak the same language as the professionals and organisations she represents. She understands the demands of the profession, the nuances of legal careers and the importance of finding the right fit — not simply filling a vacancy.
