Jayh Karia

Jayh began his recruitment career in London, specialising in senior permanent finance appointments within private equity-backed portfolio companies. He worked with a range of investor-backed businesses to recruit Financial Controllers, Finance Directors and other senior finance professionals, gaining valuable exposure to high-growth businesses, leadership hiring and commercially focused finance functions.

Following his move to Edinburgh, he established an Audit, Risk and Compliance desk covering both professional practice and industry across Scotland. He worked with accountancy firms, financial services organisations, banks and corporate businesses, recruiting roles from Manager and Senior Manager level through to Heads of Department and Director positions. He built long-standing relationships across the Scottish market and developed a strong understanding of both the accountancy profession and the wider financial services sector.

He subsequently moved in-house to a Top 8 accountancy firm, where he took responsibility for experienced-hire recruitment across Audit and Tax teams throughout Scotland, Yorkshire and the Midlands. He supported hiring activity across multiple offices, partnering with service-line leaders and Partners on recruitment requirements from newly qualified level through to Director appointments. This role provided him with direct exposure to the operational and growth challenges faced by accountancy firms, as well as the factors influencing candidate attraction and retention within professional services.

He is currently with Meraki Talent, where he specialises in Audit and Tax Partner recruitment across England and Scotland. He works exclusively on senior leadership appointments, including Partner, Director and Responsible Individual (RI) hires, across Top 100, regional and independent accountancy firms. Alongside retained and contingent search assignments, he supports firms with succession planning, strategic growth hires, leadership team build-outs, RI pipeline planning and market-mapping exercises.

He covers key markets including Scotland, the North East, the Midlands, the South West and London, working closely with firms seeking to strengthen existing service lines, enter new markets or plan for future leadership changes.

Outside of work, Jayh is a huge Hearts fan and follows the England National Football Team home and away.
