Specialist Fund Finance Recruitment

The alternative investment landscape has changed dramatically over the past decade. New fund structures, expanding international operations, increased regulatory scrutiny and greater investor expectations have transformed the role of finance.

Today's finance professionals are expected to be strategic business partners, working closely with Investment, Operations, Investor Relations and Executive Leadership teams to support business growth while maintaining exceptional governance.

Demand for experienced Fund Finance professionals continues to exceed supply, particularly those with deep asset class expertise. The strongest candidates are rarely actively seeking new opportunities, making specialist market knowledge and established networks more valuable than ever.

Our London Financial Services team has built long-standing relationships across the global alternative investment market, giving clients access to high-calibre professionals that traditional recruitment approaches often fail to reach.

With more than 15 years of recruitment experience, Nathan has built his career within Financial Services, developing particular expertise across Asset Management, Buyside, Wealth Management, Investment Management and Asset Servicing. He joined Meraki at its inception in 2015 and has been instrumental in the development of the business ever since.

In 2018, Nathan relocated from Scotland to establish Meraki's London office, building the firm's presence in one of the world's most important Financial Services markets. Since then, he has helped develop an extensive client network across London and the wider UK, partnering with Asset Managers, Wealth Managers, Fund Services businesses and other organisations operating throughout the investment ecosystem.

Today, Nathan leads Meraki's Asset & Wealth Management offering, providing clients with access to specialist recruitment expertise across the entire investment lifecycle. The practice delivers multi-disciplinary coverage spanning Buyside, Banking, Investor Relations, Multi-Asset Brokerage, Marketing & Distribution, Investment Operations and both Public and Private Markets.

Nathan has developed particularly strong expertise within the operational and infrastructure functions that underpin Asset Management. His network spans Investment and Fund Operations, Fund Services, Client and Relationship Management and the increasingly important Private Markets ecosystem. He works with organisations ranging from traditional Asset and Wealth Managers to Fund Services providers, ACDs, Custodians, technology businesses and consultancies.

Nathan's approach is highly consultative. Rather than viewing recruitment as an individual transaction, he works to understand a client's business, operating model, culture and longer-term objectives. This allows him and his team to support everything from individual specialist appointments and senior leadership searches to the development and structure of entire teams.

As a Director, Nathan's responsibilities extend beyond his own market. He plays an active role in the leadership and continued expansion of Meraki's London business, helping to identify new markets, develop client relationships and attract and mentor specialist recruiters as the team grows. His recent expansion of the London Financial Services team has included investment in Asset Management Finance, Change & Transformation, Risk & Compliance and other specialist disciplines.Outside of work, Nathan is a committed marathon runner, having completed marathons in six major cities, as well as a devoted Arsenal supporter. When he's not running or watching football, he enjoys spending time walking his dog.

Andrew McKay

Andrew MacKay

Business Manager

Andrew.MacKay@merakitalent.com

https://www.linkedin.com/in/andrew-mackay-meraki/

After graduating from the University of Southampton with a BSc in Psychology, Andrew began his recruitment career with a global recruitment firm, initially specialising in Finance appointments across the South Coast. Following a period spent travelling and working in Australia, he returned to recruitment and continued to develop his finance expertise, supporting businesses across South West London with their permanent hiring requirements.

In 2015, Andrew moved into specialist Buy-Side recruitment when he joined the Asset Management & Private Equity team at Michael Page. This marked the beginning of more than a decade working closely with organisations across the investment management landscape and enabled him to develop an extensive network of finance professionals and senior leaders within the sector.

Andrew joined Meraki Talent’s London office in April 2026 with a mandate to develop and grow the firm’s Buy-Side Finance offering. He works closely with Institutional Asset Managers, Private Equity houses and alternative investment firms, providing a highly consultative approach to both individual appointments and broader team-building requirements.

His specialist coverage encompasses finance appointments across Financial Control, Fund Finance, Financial Planning & Analysis, Management Reporting and Regulatory Reporting, with mandates ranging from qualified and specialist appointments through to senior finance leadership.

Andrew’s approach is built around developing long-term relationships and gaining a detailed understanding of each client’s business, investment strategy, structure and culture. This allows him to look beyond the immediate job description and identify individuals with the technical expertise, commercial understanding and cultural fit required to make a lasting impact.

With extensive experience of the Buy-Side market, Andrew also provides clients and candidates with insight into compensation, talent availability, competitor activity and evolving hiring trends across Asset Management, Private Equity and the wider alternatives market.

Outside of work, Andrew enjoys spending time with his young family and exploring the Cotswolds’ country paths, and pubs, with his dog, Crumble. A keen sailor from an early age, Andrew represented Great Britain internationally and won national championships during his university years. These days, he is looking forward to introducing his children to the sport and passing on his love of being on the water.
